A Guide to Self Care and Wellbeing During Times of Uncertainty

 

As adults, uncertainty is not something we eagerly look for or want in our lives.  Even our children experience uncertainty and it is often without the knowledge of details or reasons.

 

In our adults’ world we take on our uncertainty with a little knowledge of why it’s happening and possibly have a friend in our lives that we can talk with; we know in time that eventually we will adjust. However our children only get to hear snippets of information but see and feel big emotions from the adults in their lives. They start to fill in the gaps with their own understanding, their own logic, which is still young and fresh.

 

Adults can play an important part in helping their children to respond to uncertainty by providing time to listen and talk, to help fill in the gaps with what is really happening.
