Years F/1

This week has been a fun week with lots of excitement about the Book Fair.  We made our wish lists and it took a very long to decide which books we would like to have at home to enjoy! Ms Ferrier wanted to buy lots for her grandchildren too.

In Maths, we have been focusing on reading and writing the numbers 11 to 20 for the Foundation students. We made our own number cards and counted on using the dominoes.  The Year 1s have been concentrating on using number lines and counting back to solve subtraction problems.

Lots of concentration!
Lots of concentration!

Our Year 1 writers have been busy finishing their narrative story and practised their keyboarding skills by typing up their writing. Their finished stories are proudly on display in our classroom.

Each Wednesday, we are very fortunate to have Mrs. Huf and baby Isla visit our classroom to help in our English session. This week, Mrs. Huf was building up our students phonological awareness skills with adding and changing sounds in words and identifying rhyming words. This week, the Foundation students and Isla enjoyed reading a story called 'The Big Hat' . We were very impressed with Isla joining in!
