Science

As part of their Science unit of work on Le système nerveux et la communication nerveuse (the nervous system), the Year 7 French Binational students recently had the opportunity to do their own frog dissection during their Science lesson.  For most students, this was a first.  The purpose of this hands-on activity was to explore, in particular, the nervous system of the frog and visualise some of the nerves and the spinal cord.  Students also had the chance to see most of the internal organs, including the heart and the lungs, and their connection inside the frog.  This experience proved to be inspiring for many students, and quite testing for others.

Brevet

A shout out to the nine French Binational students who have started their Brevet examination sequence.  The written examination in French, Maths, Humanities and Science is happening in the last week of Term 2, students have already completed the oral presentation.  During the 15 minute oral presentation on a project/learning transversal experience, they are not only assessed on language skills but on their capacity to reflect on their work and experience and engage with the jury.  The results are not yet available, but we are very proud of the effort students put in to their preparation.  They also sat two additional sets of certifications mandated by the program:  one level of English against the European Framework for languages and the Pix certification that assesses digital skills in five areas of competence and 16 competencies of the European Digital Competence Framework.  Well done to all and keep up with the great work in preparation for the final part of the Brevet later in June.
