NAPLAN Assessments

Over weeks 3 and 4, the Year 7 and 9 students completed the NAPLAN Reading, Writing, Language Conventions and Numeracy tests online.  In each test session, the supervising teachers commented on how impressed they were at the way that the students conducted themselves.  The students arrived at the test location on time and with the necessary equipment, were patient with any technical issues they experienced and were respectful of their peers by remaining silent until the whole cohort had completed their tests.  They should be very proud of themselves.

AHS has consistently achieved NAPLAN results that are higher than both the state and national average.  Our students’ results also demonstrate that a significant number of our students achieve high learning growth from Years 7 to 9, indicating that our teachers are providing high-quality teaching and learning programs that support and challenge every student.  Each year, teachers at AHS carefully analyse the NAPLAN data to identify the areas of strength and areas for development of cohorts and individual students.  This allows them to be able to plan engaging and differentiated lessons that support the learning needs of every student.
