Year 7- Rory Fletcher M73

This week the year 7 class’s have had to participate in The National Assessment Program Literacy and Numeracy (NAPLAN). For some it can be very stressful but for others it is a breeze. We are very lucky to have such an amazing program such as NAPLAN.

It is a privilege to have an opportunity like this, to learn so many new things, and all free. We have completed all the NAPLAN tasks that are reading, writing, language conventions and maths, with a minimum number of technical difficulties and with everyone still alive. Despite some people enjoying the test everyone is very thankful that it is finally over until year 9.

On Thursday all the year 7's attended a Proactive Police assembly. I think I speak for everyone when I say it was both interesting and informing. We learned about vaping and alcohol laws and how much you can be fined for holding an illegal substance if you are under-aged. Now that that is all done everyone has a free dress day next week to look forward to.

Year 7 - Abbey Franklin M73

On Friday the 27th of May, the whole of M73 took a little excursion next door to Langwarrin Primary School to give them a hand with their round robin of tee-ball. We got there and the amazing Miss Stoiss signed us in and then we started heading down to the oval. We met up with the students we were playing with and some of us had to get them to explain how to play tee-ball in the first place! All of them gave it a shot even including the EMC students!  (I can also guarantee you no one was taking it seriously!!) We were so lucky to play with them for just under 2 hours, and it was amazing seeing their skills improve so much in just a short amount of time! All of them were so kind and grateful for every single second of it.

Because it is slowly coming to an end of Term 2, M73 had their Post GAT for Maths and it was on fractions decimals and percentages. They have been working their very smart brains to try and achieve the best they possibly can which has been so amazing to see, but also another big topic in all classes right now is the book that we are reading ‘Auggie and Me’. ‘Auggie and Me’ is a sequel novel of the movie ‘Wonder’ and it is the book that all year 7s have been starting to study on in English. It has taught us to never judge a book by its cover and to not give up if you feel like you aren’t good enough, or feel like you don’t fit in.

Another thing that happened on Friday was all the Myamba Middle School got to go out onto the football oval and got to have their own little games session to celebrate all their academic and just overall achievements over the past two terms of being in Myamba. They split each of the classes up into groups and then we finally got to start having some fun! Some of the games that they provided were an egg and spoon race, giant Jenga, tug of war, how far can you throw, kick etc...

But the best thing that they had BY FAR was the sausage sizzle! Great job Myamba! Keep it up!
