ROOM 14

Term 1 has been busy for room 14. We have had a focus on having fun with writing, drawing, and colouring with growing confidence and control.

Throughout the term I have seen students grow in their confidence as they show more pride in their work. This has mainly been demonstrated through a growing willingness to share work at the end of a writing session.

Next term room 14 will continue to do as much writing as possible focusing on writing PLSP goals and a special focus on gripping the pencil softly.

Rest up those wrists room 14 and have a good break.

Middle Years Sub School News

Term 1 has been a whirlwind of activity for everyone. The Middle years have been having fun doing Wakikiri, Stomp, Jacanarama and Harmony day. It has been amazing being able to go into the classrooms to see all the exciting things they have been doing.

In room 15 they have been busy creating snow scenes and other arts and crafts. Each week it is exciting to go in and see what they are working on.

In room 18 they made marshmallow catapults from marshmallows and skewers and a rubber band.

Room 11 had some fantastic radish plants growing in plastic cups with a bag to act as a mini greenhouse.

Room 14 has been having fun playing greedy pig during maths.

Harmony day was amazing. The students came out to parade their hats and house colours. There was international music, an impromptu dance mob, the parachute and lots of fun. Everyone enjoyed themselves and there were lots of smiles. I really loved seeing how creative the hats were and how accepting all the students were during the event.

The students have been getting very excited about Jacanarama. They have been telling me how many laps they will do. I know everyone is going to go out and do the best they can and have a wonderful time.

Have a happy and safe Easter holidays. I look forward to seeing you all in term 2.

From Daniel Moloney - As I will be assuming my new role as Assistant Principal in Term 2, sadly I will need to move onward and upward from the Middle Sub School Leader, as has been the case since the beginning of 2019.

I would like to acknowledge the sensational teamwork of the staff, the committed strong work partnerships with our MSS families and the inspirational students in my care at that time.

I expect that Linda Wakeling, our current stand-in leader, will continue to do a fantastic job as our new Middle Sub School leader for 5 days. I encourage you all to continue to liaise and work with her aiming to achieve outstanding outcomes for our MSS students from herein.

Its not Goodbye, its a "see you around"
