Let’s Put On a Show 

On the pupil free day in week 6 we held a talent show which the children loved and wanted to do again. So we dedicated week 8 to putting on a show and performing. The week proved very popular and allowed the children to express themselves and build confidence. Activities Included:

• Making magic hats
• Learning card magic tricks
• Choreograph dance routines
• Decorating pop star posters
• Creating clay stop motions
• Making magic wands
• Reading out scripts from Harry Potter Movies
• Costume Design
• Making microphones

The week culminated in a big talent show which was performed on Thursday and Friday night. Acts included Harry Potter re-enactments and dance recitals.

To the Rescue

 One of the displays set up on the walls here at St Marys TheirCare is a silhouette of the Melbourne skyline which has been decorated with superhero’s coloured in by the children. The children really enjoyed setting up this display so we dedicated week 9 to superhero’s. The children took flight creating black panther and spider man costumes out of cardboard, crafting squishy sidekicks, making rice stress balls, driving in robot obstacles courses, finding superhero’s in the superhero scavenger hunt and guessing their secret identities in a game of superhero celebrity heads.
