Principal's News

Dear Families,

Welcome back to all our families for what we expect to be, another wonderful term of learning at Trinity. On Monday I was welcomed at the school gate by dozens of smiling and excited children eager to burst into the school grounds and re-connect with their friends. There is no doubt our children do look forward to school holidays and probably dread the end of these but I am positive that they also love to be at school with their teachers and friends.  I can honestly say the same for our teachers who all missed their children and were eager to see them after the term break.

Next week I will include in the newsletter, term overviews for each of the year levels, so that parents are able to gain an idea of the learning that will be covered throughout the term.

I look forward to many great opportunities in the coming weeks to further develop the great partnership with families that we enjoy at Trinity.

Parent Helper Workshops

Next week we will be running another Parent Helper Workshop for parents who are interested in helping in the classroom. This is being offered again for those families who missed the workshop last term. It is the same as the first one so if you attended last term you do not need to attend again.

The meeting will take place on Monday 26th April at 9am for about an hour. It will be held at Trinity in the Mezzanine.

This workshop will be about how you can help in the classroom during literacy time which is held first thing every morning across the school.  This session will be about how you can support and encourage students as they learn.

At Trinity, we welcome and value parents in classrooms and would love you to come along and be part of the learning environment at Trinity. After the meeting we will invite you to allocate a time that is suitable for you to help on any given day from Monday to Friday. You may only be available for a short time on a particular day, and that is absolutely fine, as any help is valued and appreciated. If  Also, please be aware that all parents who work in a school are required by law to obtain a ‘Working With Children Check’. Please contact the office for any further information about this.

We look forward to seeing you at this workshop. If you have any questions about this session please do not hesitate to contact Ms Marinelli directly.

Lunch Orders for Term 2

Please see update and link under Important Dates and Reminders.

Staff Conference

As mentioned in last term's newsletters, the staff of Trinity will participate in a two day conference on Thursday 6th May and Friday 7th May.  Therefore there will be no school for children on those days. If your child does require care on one or both of these days please contact EXTEND. Days such as this provide a great opportunity for more intensive professional learning for our staff and we greatly appreciate the support of parents in enabling this to occur.

Term 2 Music Lessons

On Monday teachers from ABC Music visited classrooms to speak to our children about their program and the instrumental lessons they provide. If you or your child has an interest in taking up an instrument you can now engage the services of ABC Music. Click the link below to view the Information Brochure.

ABC Music Group offers an Instrumental Music Program at school for years Prep to Grade 6 students. To find out more about the program follow the link below . https://www.abcmusicgroup.com.au/instrumental-music-programs-for-schools/

School Promotion & Marketing

We have received the first cut of our school promotion video and await some final edits before we can share it on our school website. I must say that all those, children, parents and staff members who participated have done an amazing job and have greatly impressed the video producers who create many of these types of videos for schools. The video is slightly longer than we had planned but with so much great material they had difficulty deciding what to leave out.

Thank you also to those who shared their thoughts regarding the choice of our new school logo. It was quite a balanced response for all four options which I suppose highlights our individual differences and opinions. After much consideration and discussion we have chosen the Trinity Cross as we felt the design met the brief given to our graphic designers and provides great scope to work with going forward.

School Advisory Council

We await information from MACS, Melbourne Archdiocese of Catholic Schools, in regard to the structure and function of what has been known as the Parish Education Board. As their may be few changes as to how we operate it will be important for us to have a good understanding of any significant changes before our first formal meeting. I will keep you informed as to when this will occur.

Kind Regards

Mr Nigel Rodrigues
