What has been happening in 1O?

In Inquiry, we have been learning about insects, living things and life cycles. One of the things I saw at home was a praying mantis when my cousins came over. (Olive)

We have also been learning about chickens. We have chickens that have hatched from their eggs. (Alice/Oliver)

I was so excited to hold a baby chicken. (Julian)

We have been reading books about chicken’s life cycle. I have learnt that chickens hatch from their eggs. (Ashton)

We have been writing chickens diaries and we might even display them when we are done. I have learnt about the inside of an egg. (Atanaz)

In Reader’s Workshop, we have been learning the difference between facts and opinions. (Holly) 

An opinion is something you think and feel (Evie)

A fact is something proven by a scientist. (Luka)

I learnt that Grasshoppers can jump 25cm high and 1 metre long. (Zac)

In Writer’s Workshop, we have been starting to write books about insects. (Scarlett)

In Maths, we have been learning how to tell the time.  I know how to read o’clock and half past times. (Chloe)

We have also been learning about subtraction. I learnt that you always have to put the greater number at the start. (Joey)

I went and saw Mr Smith. He taught me a new maths warm-up using 3 dice, a 10 dice and two 6 sided dice. (George)
