The Swimming Carnival held on 10 February at the Werribee Outdoor Pool was jam-packed with competition swimming and novelty events.  Hume took out the carnival with 1,923 points.  A total of 43 students qualified for the District & Division competitions.  Special mention to Evren C Year 9 who qualified for the SSV State Swimming Championships and finished 4th in the individual medley.

The House Cross Country was held on 24 March.  The rainy and muddy day really gave our Year 3 – 12 competitors a cross-country experience.  Hume won the day with 715 points.  Later in Term 2, qualifying students will have the opportunity to compete at District & Division Cross Country experiences.

The Athletics Carnival was held at the Victoria University (VU) Athletics Track on 21 April and started out on the chilly side, before the sun appeared in what turned out to be a beautiful day.  Among our Year 7 – 12 competitors we saw remarkable team spirit and athletic ability, with Baker taking out the day.  Later this term, Year 3 – 6 students will participate in their Athletics Carnival at the VU Athletics Track.

On behalf of the Health and Physical Education Learning Area, we would like to thank our Good News colleagues and parents who assisted throughout these events.  Without a whole-College effort, these events are not possible.
