Divisional Athletics Carnival
On Thursday 12th October we had several students compete at the Divisonal Athletics Carnival at Bill Sewart Reserve. In High Jump, Carla D came away with a third ribbon and Teig J came second, qualifying him for the Regional Finals. Congratulations to all our very talented MPS participants - getting to Divisional Athletics is a big deal and you should all be very proud of your achievements!
Regional Athletics Championships
Congratualations to Teig J who competed in Boys 11 year old High Jump at the Regional Athletics Championships on the 19th October at Bill Sewart Reserve. The conditions were windy but Teig jumped 136 cm (a personal best!!) and came 5th overall. An excellent achievement. Well done Teig!
Heathmont College Astronomy Club
Heathmont College Astronomy Club is hosting the first telescope night on Tuesday 24th October.
The evening will begin at 7:00pm and conclude at 9:30pm, however families are welcome to come and go as they see fit.
There will be a large screen setup on Heathmont College’s oval, for viewing by all, instead of one at-a-time at the telescope via a camera on the telescope. Various planets in the solar system will be viewed, as well as the Moon, Galaxies and Nebulae’s.
The location will be on the Oval corner nearest the main upper car park. Please park in the main car park. Small activities will also be organised for students to participate in to get to know their stars and their constellation star sign configurations before it gets dark.
There is no need to book, families are more than welcome to just turn up!
