O'Connor News

Z Club had their first official meeting for 2018 today. Claire Giles, our newly elected President welcomed members new and old. She thanked them for being a part of our club and assuring them that they can and do make a difference with activities we undertake as a group in terms of service and advocacy for women, both globally and locally. We provide care packages to Vinnies and the Womens Shelter for those in need. Another project we offer is the purchase and assembly of birthing kits which are sent all around the world to allow mothers to have a cleaner and safer birth for their babies. There will be an assembly day early May for those wishing to participate. We often have guest speakers at our meetings, and we view videos that relate to the wonderful work we do.
On another local level, Z Club members contributed cakes and slices for the recent Zonta Area 3 conference which was hosted by O'Connor Catholic College.
Z Club will also be represented, once again, at the Quota International Women's Day Breakfast to be held on Friday 9th March at the Armidale Bowling Club.
Our other executive members are Georgia MacMahon, Secretary and Maria Alkhouri, Vice President.
If you wish to join or would like more information chat to these girls or see Mrs Channon.
Our next meeting is Thursday 22nd March, in the library in Break B.
