Curriculum Matters

On Monday 16th October the Higher School Certificate written examinations commenced. This year, more than 70,000 students are on track to achieve their HSC. Kildare has 120 students completing exams.

118 written exams will be conducted over the next three weeks until exams finish on Wednesday, 7th November with Design and Technology and Drama.

We wish the class of 2017 all the best as they undertake their exams. Additionally, we wish Year 11 well as they start their HSC courses.

Year 11 Reports and  Parent/ Teacher/ Student Interviews

The Year 11 Reports will be emailed to all families on Monday, 23rd October. Parent/ Teacher/ Student interviews are scheduled to be held in the College Hall on Wednesday, 25th October from 4-7pm. We are using the www.sobs.com.au booking system that we have used in the past. This requires you to make bookings according to your child's teacher's name. Interviews are for 5 minutes. Once bookings are made, you are able to print your schedule, as well as send a confirming email to yourself. Bookings can also be amended at a later date.

Bookings will be able to be made online and will close at 3.00pm on Tuesday, 24th October. No bookings can be made after this date.

Making Subject Changes

In terms of HSC pattern of study, students have been advised to consider their assessment results and feedback before making any change to subjects they are studying. They have been encouraged to engage in discussions with their teachers and parents. Students have been told that they are not compelled to drop a course at this time unless it has been a Yr 11 only course. This can occur at a later date if

it is deemed necessary.

If a student does elect to cease a course, they must complete a Change of Subject Form which requires parent/ teacher/ student signatures. Unless this is completed, they will be still enrolled in that subject.

Should you wish to discuss any questions about pattern of study, please contact me.
