Hello everyone,
The HSC is on and initial feedback on exams from our students is very positive. Please keep them in your prayers as exams continue.
On Presentation Day, November 21, the Presentation Sisters are holding a pilgrimage to the Sisters’ graves at our College, the Wagga Wagga Monumental Cemetery and the Wagga Wagga Lawn Cemetery. The Sisters buried in the convent cemetery on our site will be the focus of a Pilgrimage Liturgy at 10am on November 21. Organisers are interested in finding Kildare community members who have a connection to the Sisters in the cemetery, to read a prayer and tribute. Can you check the family tree and see if you have a connection to any of the Australian-born and Irish-born Sisters?
Australian-born Sisters are:
Sr Magdalen (Maria Theresa) Crowe born in 1861 in the Wagga Wagga area.
Sr Camillus (Mollie) Ley born in 1876 in Kew, Melbourne.
Sr Monica (Annie) Hartnett born in 1875 at Tarcutta.
Mother Michael Gleeson born in 1858 at Colac, Victoria.
Sr Catherine Legge born in 1855 in Coburg, Melbourne.
Irish-born Sisters are:
Mother Xavier (Frances) Byrne born in Dublin in 1821.
Sr Stanislaus Dunne born in 1853 in Kildare.
Mother Evangelist Kelly born in 1850 in Kildare.
Sr Paul (Mary) Ryan born in 1857 in Cappamore, Limerick.
Please contact me if you can identify any relational or other connection with any of these Sisters. We would love to have individuals with a connection reading a prayer and tribute.
Thanks for the great start to Term 4. It used to be a’ wind-down’ term in less-informed days: now it is a time of focus to ensure a year’s worth of learning is achieved this year, and a time for completing the foundation for next year’s study. All the best as we work for these worthy goals.
