What Can I Do during this to keep active and fit?

School Sport Victoria News

Interschool sport

Due to the Coronavirus, School Sport Victoria advises that no inter-school sporting events and competitions will run in Term 2.

Where possible, events will be postponed rather than cancelled altogether.

Some inter-school sporting events and competitions have been cancelled and will not run in 2020. These include:

  • Local district or division events which cannot be rescheduled to later in the year. This may be due to the seasonality of the sport, access to venues or availability of schools to participate.
  • Coburg District Term 2 Events Cancelled:
    • Interschool Sport Competitions(football, soccer & netball)
    • Cross Country Championships
  • Further advice regarding the status of other events will be provided prior to Term 3, with updates on the status of individual events provided on the events page of this website.

We encourage you to check out  ways to remain active and practice your sport skills during this time.

Please continue to stay updated by checking School Sport Victoria communication via our website (www.ssv.vic.edu.au), Facebook (School Sport Victoria) and Twitter (@SchoolSportVic).

Team Vic

There will be no Team Vic teams for 2020. School Sport Australia has announced that all Championships for 2020 have been cancelled.

School Sport Victoria has provided an update to those who have registered for Team Vic and advised on the process for refunds etc.

Year 5/6 Camp Postponed

The Department of Education and Training (DET) and Catholic Education Melbourne (CEM) are continuing to monitor and act on the advice of the Victorian Chief Health Officer and the Department of Health and Human Services in relation to coronavirus (COVID-19). The latest advice is that:

All camps and excursions outside the school for purposes such as visits to cultural institutions, art galleries, theatres and sporting events or facilities planned from and including Tuesday 17 March must be  cancelled for the duration of Term 2.

Unfortunately, due to the Coronavirus, the planned camp to Sovereign Hill for our Year 5/6 students will not go ahead in Term 2. Due to the uncertainty of the timing of the re-opening of Sovereign Hill, it is uncertain whether the camp can be re-scheduled. However, we are looking at the possibility of re-scheduling later in Term 4. Stay tuned!
