National Sorry Day

National Reconciliation Week celebrates achievements in our journey towards reconciliation. As part of our Celebrations and Commemorations History Unit of Inquiry, our students in Year 3 are learning about our rich Australian culture. The message we have been discussing in our classrooms is that change take persistence and courage, so let’s change it up and celebrate together the little things we do every day.

Maths Olympiads

Once again Boronia Heights PS is fielding a team of fabulous mathematicians in the Australia – wide Maths Olympiads.

On each of the 5 Wednesdays in term 2 and 3, the students in our team will have approximately 25 minutes to sit a short 5 question test.  The marks from this test will be added to a cumulative total for each individual, and will also add to the team’s total overall score. This works in a similar fashion to interschool athletics or cross country. This is the fifth year that Boronia Heights P.S has entered a team - in 2016 over 41,000 students around Australia participated. In 2015 and 2016 we were announced as a High – Performing primary school; an achievement we are very proud of!

Membership in the team is highly prized and we have already had some phenomenal results. Our next Olympiad is set for Wednesday June 14th in week 9 of this term. Good luck Team!
