2021 Staff

Welcome to our new staff for 2021
In this edition of il giornale we would like to introduce you to School of Wonder Learning Mentor Andrea Bergamin, School of Innovation Learning Mentor Pat Noonan,
Learning Support Officer Amanda Borysiewicz and Learning Support Trainee Maddison Crawford.
Andrea Bergamin
I live in the small town of Waaia and attended St Joseph’s Primary School, Numurkah, and St Mary’s College in Nathalia. I completed my Bachelor of Education at Australian Catholic University in Melbourne and am in my fourth year of teaching, having taught for three years at St Augustine’s College in Kyabram, where I taught Grade 3/4.
I am the eldest of six kids and love spending time with all my family and friends. Ever since I was little, I have always said I wanted to be a teacher and I am so grateful to be in one of the most rewarding careers. It is a true privilege to learn and work alongside children, their families and the community.
My interests include playing netball for the Waaia Football Netball Club and going camping with my family on the river or up in the mountains. Two years ago, I went to Cebu in the Philippines on a social justice immersion experience which gave me a greater insight into what it is like living in marginalised communities, but also showed me what hope and joy looks like.
I am enjoying being a part of the St Anne’s College community and a 1/2 Learning Mentor. It is exciting to work with such a passionate team of Learning Mentors and inspiring children who bring with them so much joy every day.
Pat Noonan
Hi St Anne’s College community, my name is Pat Noonan and I’m from Wagga Wagga, NSW. I had lived in Wagga all my life up until two months ago when I made the formal move down to Shepparton. I’m not going to lie, I miss home a lot as my whole family is there, minus my middle brother who lives in northern NSW. Like I said, it’s the first time I’ve moved in my life but I have a lot of experiences away from my hometown as I like to travel anywhere and everywhere. I suppose I’m very lucky in that respect as I have an awesome job, live in a country that is vastly beautiful and has access to other parts of the world. Yes, COVID has put a spanner in this, but it has allowed me to appreciate Australia more I think as a whole.
I have to be honest, I never saw myself becoming a teacher and it only dawned on me when I was 22, but teaching for the past six years has confirmed my choice of career. There are never any dull moments teaching, and working for four years at Mater Dei Catholic College was rewarding, but I felt like I needed to go somewhere new and grow as a teacher and person. The transition to St Anne’s has been amazing; everyone, and I mean everyone, is so kind, generous with their time and committed to the goals they want to achieve within their learning spaces. I feel at home here, especially as my Grandma told me that the land the college is built on was her family farm back when she used to be a Shepparton local. Her maiden name is Della Baker; her married name is Della Noonan. My Pa is also from the local area - his name is Bernie Noonan. I’m only new to Shepparton and I am still settling into all of my new surroundings, but I know all the students and Learning Mentors here at St Anne’s will guide me if I get lost, and I have got lost a couple of times. It is a pleasure to be a part of the St Anne’s College community and I look forward to the year ahead.
Amanda Borysiewicz
Allow me to introduce myself, my name is Amanda Borysiewicz and I have come to St Anne’s College after being a stay-at-home mum to my four wonderful boys. I have volunteered many times during their schooling years, whether it be in the classroom, on excursions or school camps, Mother’s/Father’s Day stalls or studying, I have kept quite busy.
We moved to Shepparton from Central Queensland seven years ago and absolutely love it here. In my free time I enjoy travelling (I met my husband overseas), cooking, gardening, catching up with friends and watching my boys play soccer.
I enjoy being part of the St Anne’s College community. The staff and students have made me feel very welcome. I look forward to seeing what 2021 brings.
Maddison Crawford
Hi! My name is Maddison Crawford, but most people just call me Maddi, and this year I’m a Learning Support Trainee at St Anne’s College. I’ll be completing a Certificate 3 in Education Support throughout the year, and aspire to study Primary Education and Early Childhood in Shepparton.
I grew up locally and attended Bourchier St Primary School and Notre Dame College, graduating with my VCE last year. I still remember some of my favourite teachers from school, and what really stood out about their teaching styles and behaviours, encouraging my aspirations to one day become a qualified teacher myself.
I enjoy spending quality time with loved ones as they hold great importance to me, whether it be going shopping with my friends or water skiing and camping with my family. I have a Labrador named Jessie, who has been with me since I started Prep in 2008 - she's quite enjoying the extra attention throughout our multiple lockdowns! I enjoy taking her for walks, and she enjoys rolling in the dirt.
I look forward to the upcoming year alongside fellow staff of St Anne’s. I'm already feeling quite welcomed to the new environment.
