Ourschool Industry Insights Series – Session #1 (for 2021)
Career pathways in the renewable energy, environmental and recycling industries
Date: Wednesday, March 17, 2021
Time: 4.30pm – 5.30pm
Objective: an informative and inspirational session for students who attend Ourschool-partnered schools. For students to:
- Broaden their thinking about different pathways into the renewable energy, environmental and recycling industries
- Learn about the qualifications and experiences required for work in these industries
- Learn about the diversity of jobs in these industries
- Hear about specific skills and human attributes needed for career success
- Better understand the changing landscape of work, and future industry predictions for Victoria / Australia regarding ‘jobs of the future’
- Enrich career / pathway planning for students, especially for Year 10 students
Target audience: Years 9-12, especially Year 10 students wanting to learn more about job pathways in climate change, renewable energy, environmental and recycling industries. Students, parents and teachers are also welcome to view the session.
Live stream Location: This will be a live stream session site that will be provided as a link to those who register for the session. The live stream session will be managed and supported by the event management company Ourschool has employed to operate the live stream session, JT Production Management.It is a secure, password protected, one-way live streaming site.
Students will not be required to 'login' with any personal email or other contact details. Instead, they will be asked to click on a link to the live stream session and enter a password that will be provided to students via Alumni Program Manager, Tanja Dunat Timms. The session site will not have any options for students to choose to turn on a mic or camera. Hence students will not be visible on screen or identified. Privacy of all viewers is assured - viewers of the live stream will not be identified.
Format overview:The guest speakers will be interviewed in a Q&A format by Elise Dunstan (Ourschool Development Manager). Students will have an opportunity during the session to type their questions to the guests in a chat box, moderated by the session host.
