Missionary Oblates of Mary Immaculate Formation - Mazenod Visit

Next week Provincial Fr Christian Fini OMI will be holding formation for Oblates across the Australian Province in Fremantle. Twenty-four Oblates will be joining us on Wednesday for the celebration of the Memorial Mass of Fr Don Hughes OMI, first Rector of Mazenod College. They will then spend some time touring our College and listening to the ways in which we live the Mission and the Charism of St Eugene De Mazenod.

Parents Association Sundowner

This evening the Parent Association hosts the Parent Welcome Sundowner. This event has grown over the past 5 years and is a really enjoyable social night. If you missed this year’s Sundowner, please look out for it when 2024 comes around. Thank you to the Parent Association volunteers who have helped to put the event on, as well as our own staff.

UP2 Project

The relationship between Year 7 and Year 12 students is an important one to support and nurture. There are key ceremonial moments in the Mazenod Journey where each group is important to the other. The Year 12 Guard of Honour to the Year 7 students at the Opening College Assembly and the Year 7 Guard of Honour for the Year 12 Farewell Assembly are two lovely bookend ceremonies. Heads of Year, Mrs Teresa Bulich (Year 12) and Mrs Kerry Gault (Year 7) have recently launched the UP2 Project between the two year groups. This project is a part of the wider Mazenod Sustainability 2023 and involves the students working together on an upcycling project. We look forward to seeing the final products after their sessions together.

International Women’s Day

This week we have joined in the celebration of International Women’s Day which happens on March 8. The theme of IWD 2023 was Embrace Equity and we ran information through Forms regarding practical ways we can promote equity as the Mazenod community. Our senior students and Mrs Anna Scanlan also delivered a community message in support and celebration of IWD 2023.
