Holy Week Prayer

Almighty Father,

Who sent your only Son Jesus Christ to save us from our sin,

Show me how I can honour you and bring glory to your name,

By walking in the way of Jesus.

Give me grace and mercy as I try and fail,

Guidance when I'm not sure which way to go, and wisdom to trust you in all things.

Amen

Holy Week and Easter Liturgies

Today we were led by the Senior students for the Holy Week and Stations of the Cross Liturgy. Father Joseph joined us for the Washing of the Feet and assumed the role of Jesus, washing the feet of students and staff.

It was a moving and reverent liturgy which left heartfelt sorrow for the occasion but also a sense of pride as to how the students portrayed that first Easter. It sends a strong message about this very important liturgical event and creates opportunity for authentic dialogue and questions between students and staff.

The following imagery captures the essence of this school event:

Alleluia Day

This most important event Alleluia Day, will be recognising and celebrating the Resurrection of our Lord through a whole school liturgy led by the senior students.  This is scheduled for the first day back for Term 2, Thursday 27th April 2023 at 9:15a.m, in the school hall.

We commence our day with this liturgy which the wider community is invited to join us.

The students are permitted to wear bright coloured clothes for this special celebration. They will also be participating in a number of activities in multi groupings throughout the day to understand the importance of the Risen Lord.

Wishing all our students and their families a very blessed and happy Easter and a safe holiday.

Sacrament of Reconciliation

Congratulations to all our students who received the Sacrament of First Reconciliation last week. May it be the first of many encounters of Reconciliation.

Father Joseph visited our Year 3 classes to discuss Reconciliation with the students last week. The students developed many interesting questions for Father Joseph including topics such as How was the world created?, God's power, What does heaven look like? and Why do we make good or wrong choices?

Mini Vinnies

The Mini Vinnies were officially commissioned last week with Father Joseph giving them a special blessing. Our Mini Vinnies members are: Fabian, Roby, Methuki, Charlie, Deepen and Adrian.

The Mini Vinnies recited their pledge and received blessed badges to wear as well as a certificate. During the Commissioning Ceremony, the students recognised the importance of their role and the significant changes and differences they can make in our school and wider community.

I congratulate and commend them for the work they have already completed and for the future.

Well done.
