WHS HOPE Page:

Where we live is called Our Planet so HOPE can also be Help Our Planet Everyday.

There are lots of ways to HELP our Planet Everyday and One of the best ways to help is to  BE KIND to our Planet.

A great way to help our planet everyday is to get up andDO A CHORE that would make a difference for our planet.

Another great way to help our planet everyday is to justSTOP USING PLASTIC as much as you can.

Find other ways - paper straws, or better yet, NO straws.

A great way to help our planet everyday, and also to make your own learning stick is to TEACH what you know about helping our planet to someone else

Like maybe teach someone how to grow something.

One of the best and easiest ways to help our planet everydayis JUST BE NICE to our Planet.

It’s your home. It’s our home. It’s the only home we’ve got and will ever have so let’s look after it.

Let’s all remember to show HOPE and Help Our Planet Everyday.

Lots of our children have been making a big effort to take this message on board.

Every day children come up to me and show me the rubbish they have collected. Five and six-year-olds have been asking to talk to me, to share their ideas about how important it is to look after our planet. The message is hitting home and it can only be good for all our futures when it does.

Jahzara and Amelia took the message to heart and each made a cool poster.

It is interesting to note the advice we are receiving from on high with regard to this.

Rachel Bolstad, an NZCER researcher on environmental sustainability, recently went on record to state that we must educate our young people in the science of climate change so they have the skills and knowledge to sustain our planet into the future. She says a key to achieving this is empowering the voice of young people and communities to pressure the Government to implement a low-emissions economy before it is too late. It is a subject so central to our existence, Rachel says, we should be integrating climate change across all our curriculum subjects.
