'Melbourne Now' Exhibition

On Friday 31st March, the Year 11 and 12 Art Making and Exhibiting students went to the National Gallery of Victoria to view the 'Melbourne Now' exhibition. This exhibition showcases artworks from over 200 artists, including fashion, jewellery, painting, sculpture, architecture, ceramics, video, performance, printmaking and publishing.

This allowed the students to view a variety of works and presentation styles, and directly relates to their Study Design Outcomes. Students listened to talks that explained the display requirements, curatorial considerations and the making of key artworks in the exhibition. They also had time to explore the street art in the laneways at the end of the day. Well done to all students who attended.

If you are interested in taking your family to 'Melbourne Now' over the holidays, the exhibition is open from 10am -5pm daily, from the 24th March through to the 20th of August 2023 and entry is free. It's located in the Ian Potter Centre: NGV, Federation Square. With train tickets now heavily discounted, it makes for a great day out!
