Last weekend was a closed weekend and everyone I am sure enjoyed a nice little break from the College.
I would like to thank the senior staff and the office ladies who stood in on Friday afternoon to assist in all aspects of departure of the students from the College. This allowed all residential staff to be able to get together which is a rare occurrence during the term. This was very much appreciated by myself and the other staff as it gave us an opportunity to discuss the year so far and do a little planning for the remainder of the term.
A Snapshot of the Week
Students started to return from around 3.30pm on Monday. Several horses were brought onsite in preparation for after school and weekend equine activities. Most students had an enjoyable and relaxing weekend and were settled relatively early on Monday evening.
Tuesday saw the boys’ basketball team win a very close game and progress into the grand final which will be heldon the Saturday 11th March at 1pm. If you’re in the area drop in and support the team.
Damaged Property
Late last week we once again found some damage to a couple of areas around the College. We had carpet tiles in the TV room damaged and a subsequent investigation found that it related directly to students rocking on the rear legs of the chairs and using their feet against the couches to see how far back they can go, it is a wonder they did not fall off. This also damages the legs of the chairs.
The other damage was on the Classroom windows to the tinting where students have scratched phallic objects into the grey film. Our cleaners pride themselves on how our College is presented and they get seriously disappointed when this type of vandalism is carried out. Can I ask that you please re-iterate with your child how destructive and disappointing this type of behaviour is. Our College is really grateful for our amazing facilities and it is so very hurtful to staff to find this damage, and it is costly to repair.
Wagin Woolorama
This weekend we have Wagin Woolarama. The bus will leave the College at 5.30am Saturday and will return around 5.30 pm. It is a long day and we have a group of students heading over to both represent the College and spectate.
