Year 2 Update

During the next fortnight, students will be undertaking learning in thefollowing areas:

Subject	Learning Focus
English	Week 8: To understand and use the diagraph /th/ and /ng/ correctly. (Little Learners) Week 9: To understand the structure and plan a narrative writing piece.
Maths	Week 8 and 9: To represent numbers on a place value chart.
Inquiry (Health)	Week 8: To explain how we can use physical exercise to improve our health and be safe. Week 9: To learn how to keep our teeth healthy and discuss why it is important.
Social & Emotional Learning	Week 8: To understand that Harmony week is about inclusiveness, respect and belonging. Week 9: To understand that everyone has the right to respect.

News and Reminders

Happy Autumn. Please remember that your child needs a sun smart hat to be able to play outside until the end of term 1 as part of the department's sun smart policy.
Little Learners Love Literacy - Take home books have now gone home with all students. Each student will receive 2 take home books every week. If families could ensure your child is reading regularly, including the heart and speed words, as well as chats to you about what they are reading. For reading hints please view the LLLL posted on compass by Amanda Jones. Reader bags need to be kept in students bag so that the books can be changed weekly. If you don't yet have a take home reader bag, these can be purchased from the school office.
