Eastern Regionals Swimming Championships

Well done to Aarya Shundravel, Gabriella Saggin, Layla Maloney, Taj Ralph, Kai Ralph, Luke White and Caleb Qiu! They all gave their utmost best at the Regional Swimming Championships last Friday!!!

Layla Maloney was able to beat her personal best time in her freestyle and breaststroke events. She came third in her heat in freestyle and overall 11th, a great accomplishment. In the breaststroke event, Layla came 9th amongst th 18 competitors and once again had a personal best swim with a 56 seconds time. Gabriella was up against tough competition in her freestyle event but she mustered all her strength and courage to finish her heat to the best of her ability. Aarya also made a strong push, beating her own Division breaststroke time by 3 seconds which was a fantastic result. In the 12 year old Breaststroke event, Aarya came 14th in the Eastern region. Our 11 year boys freestyle relay team were like torpedoes in the water, working together to swim in under 3 minutes. This is a fine performance which earned them 13th overall in the Championships.

We are all so proud of our students' effort at the Regional Swimming Championships. Thank you to our parents for their continuous support of their interschool swimming journey this year!

Knox Division AFL Girls Championships

Our school has been informed that there has been a change of date for the Knox Division Girls Football day due to the availability of SEDA students to support the running of the event. It will now be held in term 2 on Thursday 8th June at Kings Park Reserve, Upper Ferntree Gully.

Training will continue as listed below to support the teams kicking, marking, handball and game plays skills. Further training will be announced for Term 2 shortly.

In the event of undesirable weather conditions, the training will take place in the school hall opposite the school soccer pitch.

Rowville District Winter Sports

This year, our Year 5 and 6 students will be part of the Rowville District Winter Interschool Sports. These sporting opportunities will consist of a 2 day competition competing against 8 other schools in our Rowville District. Our Winter Sport competitions taking place on Friday 28th May and Friday 11th June, will consist of the following sports: AFL Football, Soccer, Netball, Fully Loaded Tee Ball and Jack Attack Lawn Bowls.

All Year 5 and 6 students were able to nominate 2 sports, with one of these sports potentially being chosen as the sport they will represent the school in. The selection of teams to represent the school at this competition will be based on their skills displayed through the P.E. program and their involvement through external school sporting competitions. Students were also provided time on specific school days to be part of ‘try-outs’ to support the selection of students into teams. The notification of which team your child/ren will be competing in for the Rowville District Winter Sports will be outlined in an Operoo form shortly.
