‘Anxious Kids’ Seminar

There has been a significant rise in the amount of children presenting to doctors and other clinicians with increased anxiety in recent times.  As a parent and/or educators we are often at a loss to know what to do and who to turn to.

On Monday, 5th August highly respected wellbeing experts, Mr Michael Grose and Dr Jodi Richardson, who herself suffers from anxiety, will be presenting a seminar on ‘Anxious Kids’ at Hellenic House at 7:00pm.  Tickets can be purchased through www.parentingideas.com.au.

Dr Richardson is a skilled author, presenter and mother of two primary aged children who has dedicated her time in research to look at ways in which a child who has anxiety can function and as parents and educators what you can do.

Our anxiety does not come from thinking about the future, but from wanting to control it.  Anon

Grow Your Mind

Over the holidays two new signs were erected, one near the entrance to the Years 4 and 5 classrooms and the other in the undercroft in the secondary area.

Already both signs are opening up the discussion on ‘What branch do I sit on?’ or ‘What strength will I grow today?’  Thanks to the staff at Grow Your Mind in Sydney who assisted in the process by supplying the images.  For further information on the parent resources they offer please go to https://www.growyourmind.life/

SchoolTV

Just a reminder that SchoolTV is easily accessible for all parents at the College by going to the College website and pressing on the Parent Tab.  This month there is a focus on Positive Parenting.
