Year 12 University and TAFE application update

1. Upcoming CASPer test dates

The CASPer test is required for admission to teaching courses in 2018. The VTAC Coursesearch entry will include the relevant link. Please note that ACU provides an alternative to the test, the Teacher Selector Statement. Unlike the CASPer, there is no charge for this means of entry assessment. Students facing financial disadvantage are encouraged to consider this option. Entry to all teaching courses in 2018 will require a minimum ATAR of 65, regardless of Clearly-in scores in 2017.  Please contact Mr Newnham in the Careers Office for further assistance, including alternative options.

2. ATAR release and Change of Preference

ATARs will be released on December 15th, 2017, from 7.00am. Students have a number of means of accessing their ATAR, these are detailed on the postcard given to students early in November. Alternatively, go to

Students may wish to change their course preferences and can do so until noon, December 20th. The Careers team will be available to assist during the Change of Preference period. Students are advised to make an appointment. They may do this after the VCE assembly in the Senior Centre at 10am on Friday 15th December, or by telephoning or emailing Mr Newnham (new@wantirnacollege.vic.edu.au). If required, bookings can be made after regular school hours. All institutions will have hotlines and information sessions to further assist students.
