Performing Arts

Wow! What a year we've had!
This term we have been so impressed by all the incredible events in the Performing Arts. The Summer Showcase series has seen over 1500 audiences members attend 14 different events.
All instrumental and vocal lessons have now ceased for the year and students are now winding down for a well-earned rest. The Performing Arts staff have also been very busy, but are very excited about the 2018 Season.
For your family calendar planning, event dates for 2018 will be available shortly on the College Calendar via Compass.
2018 Music Camps
As many of you know, we have an annual music camp for students part of the Ensemble and Vocal program.
In 2018, the following ensembles will be attending Music Camps:
Choral Camp
Choral Camp
Friday 20th April from 7.30pm until Sunday 22nd April at 12.00pm
All Voice, Choir and Piano Students
Ensemble Camp
Sunday 22nd April from 7.30pm until Tuesday 24th April at 3.00pm
All students who perform in the String Program, Symphonic Band and Concert Band
Both of these camp experiences are all inclusive of accommodation, activities and food. Each camp will cost $200.00 per student and payment options will be available on Compass in Term 1, 2018.
New Music Staff
While we're sad to see Mr Harvey moving on to a new school, we're excited to welcome Danny van Bergen and Michelle Lam to the College on a full-time basis.
Michelle will continue to oversee the Piano program and will begin teaching in the Classroom Music Program.
Danny will also continue to oversee the Brass program and will also begin teaching in the Classroom Music program.
As I will be on leave in Term 1, Danny will be working as the Acting Leader of Performing Arts for this term. This will be an exciting opportunity for him and we are all looking forward to working under his leadership of the faculty.
Deposits for 2018
Thank you to the hundreds of families who have already paid their 2018 deposits for lessons and participation in the program for 2018.
Just a reminder to those who have outstanding payments, that these were due on Friday 8th December. We have kept the payments open, so families can pay this over the Summer break, however, students will not be able to commence lessons until these payments have been made.
Finally on behalf of all our Performing Arts Staff, Cathy Rouse and myself, we wish you all a very Merry Christmas and hope that you enjoy some rest, eat some delicious food and have some fun with your family and friends.
Thank you all for your support of the program and we are very excited for many more adventures in 2018.
