Harmony Day took place on March 21. In celebration, the SRC arranged activities  including music from a variety of cultural backgrounds, a henna stall and a Chiness Calligraphy activity.  All these activities were organised and run by students.

BSC prides itself on the diversity of its community and I think that Harmony Day gave us the opportunity for us all to appreciate the similarites and differences of the many cultures represented within our school.

Harmony Day is about bringing people together, respect and friendship.

Celebrating  Harmony Day is really about our values as a community and the importance of giving recognition and respect to every individual.

Everyone has their own special qualities to contribute, and when we come together as a community - for example just as we did at the World's Greatest Shave - it doesn't matter that we all come from different cultural backgrounds.  If we all commit to being a community in harmony,  then we are a powerful force!

It was fabulous to see students enjoying time together at the Harmony Day event.

The best way to learn about other cultures and ideas is through friendship and sharing our experiences, thoughts and ideas.  Listening to the stories of others is interesting and can identify the many fundamental similarities shared across cultures. This is how we learn to get along in harmony - and we never think about  it as 'learning' at all!
