Important

Year 12 Information

Dates To Diarise

I will be presenting to you the application process and results phase soon after our Careers Practitioners VTAC briefing on Wednesday 31 July prior to VTAC opening on Monday 5 August.

Following is a brief timeline:

JULY: Time to start planning if you haven't already done so. Make a schedule of Open Days to visit and check out the latest course information using the different local state course search websites:

VIC: VTAC CourseSearch

NSW & ACT: UAC CourseSearch

QLD: QTAC CourseSearch

SA & NT: SATAC CourseSearch

TAS: UTAS CourseSearch

WA: TISC CourseSearch

AUGUST 5: Time to organise a meeting in Careers to set up and create your VTAC account and start your course application process.

It is important to remember that some courses requiring Portfolios and Auditions do close much earlier than other courses. Please speak to me if you are unsure.

SEPTEMBER 30: Submit your timely course applications. You can continue changing your preferences even after you have submitted your application.

OCTOBER 11: Finalise your Scholarships and SEAS applications. I recommend these be prepared well in advance to avoid a last minute rush.

JANUARY: Receive your results and finalise your preferences.  #Early January date to be confirmed but I will be talking more about this in due course.

I have also attached below the Years 11 and 12 VTAC Guide. Please note that although there is a lot of VCE specific information, it is still a good resource for the most relevant information in terms of course research, application procedure, advice, dates and deadlines.

If you have any questions please do not hesitate to send me an email or make an appointment.

100 Jobs of the Future Report

"In this report, the 100 jobs of the future are organised by broad category of application, such as ‘people jobs’, ‘hands on jobs’ and ‘data jobs’. This is to provide a simple scaffold to help people to browse among roles that may be of interest to them. Some jobs may fall into multiple broad categories, particularly those that involve use of digital technologies, but they are only represented once here to eliminate redundancy..."

Future Park Design Ideas Competition: New Public Space for Melbourne

Considered the fourth fastest growing city in the OECD, Melbourne is expected to eclipse Sydney as Australia’s largest city by 2050. This population growth and densification raises questions over the capacity of our existing parks to meet the needs of today’s contemporary and bourgeoning city. The Future Park Design Ideas Competition encourages entrants to envision new public spaces for modern Melbourne. Where should this new public open space be located, how should it be configured and what is its role?

Entries close: 1 August 2019

Who can enter?: Victorian high school students studying art, design, environmental studies and associated subjects are invited to submit proposals within the student category.
