School Formal

Au79 Café in Abbotsford

A night to remember

by Amelie Justin (Year 12) on behalf of the Formal Committee

In an array of colour and glamour, the Year 11s and 12s arrived at around 7pm at Au79 Café in Abbotsford on the last day of Term 2 for the annual School Formal.

Alongside the café’s usual greenery-filled interior, the space was beautifully decorated with balloons in every colour of the rainbow and fairy lights covering the ceiling.

Throughout the night, canapés were served and a delicious grazing table consisting of charcuterie, cheeses, bread, olives and dips was available from beginning to end.

Humorous awards (including best bromance and best dancer) were presented to certain attendees - voted for by the students and wonderfully MC’d by Chris and Phuong!

We danced and laughed all night long and before we knew it, it was over… although the memories and photos of the night will ensure that it will be remembered for a long time to come.

In the months leading up to the formal, many people helped me plan and execute what turned out to be a wonderful night. Thank you to Ruby, Anja, Nikita, Sam and David. Thank you to Dan, Chris, Phuong, Linda and Amy – the lovely teachers who joined us on the night. And thank you to everyone who attended and made the night so special.
