Boarding

Our love and support goes out to Connor, Scott, Melissa and Elijah this week after Connor’s concussion at footy on the weekend. We are so grateful for the exceptional initial care that he received and have been more and more relieved every time we get another report back that things are progressing well. These few days have made it clear just how much the other boarders care for Connor and it has been lovely to see the concern and support they have offered. We wish him a speedy recovery and look forward to his return. Ned has missed him the most but has promised to ask his imaginary friend to move out so Connor can have his bed back.

It was fantastic to catch up with 2017 leavers Neil, Tony and Jitang on the weekend as they returned from Melbourne. They assure me that they really miss the school community but they definitely don’t miss that V/Line trip. We had a lovely welcoming party for them and unsurprisingly they hit the basketball courts for a couple of hours before heading back to Melbourne in the afternoon.

We also had about 8 past Collegians come through the boarding house on Saturday afternoon to kick off their 10-year reunion. They were excited to see the extension work on both houses and told some great stories of the good old days.

A special mention to Fergus Roberts this week who is in red hot form with the hockey stick. He scored 6 goals for the under 16s on Saturday and backed up with another for A Grade during their win over Monivae the following day.

The Hiking Club are taking on Mount Abrupt this Sunday and are looking forward to getting out into the fresh air after a big week of exams. Bring it on!
