Year 11 and 12 students are about halfway through their formal classroom studies for the year. There has been a consistent focus on meeting personal and school learning goals, and students have engaged in applying their skills to their final assessments.
The Year 12 students have been given a complimentary weekly Yoga and Mindfulness class to help them to manage work-related stress. This has been a fantastic gift from Merri Health and Brunswick Baths. Our teacher, Alisha, has us working on our breathing, stretches and taking time out of our days to be mindful and present in our bodies.
The Year 11 VCAL Numeracy class have applied measurement to design, construction and decorating, with a cubby house being prepared as either a raffle prize or sale item at this year's Twilight market. See the photos below - they are doing a fabulous job!
Year 12 Design and Technology: Textiles showcase their portfolios as they iterate multiple designs for their clients.
The recent Year 11 Assembly celebrated student achievements out of school, with a solo dance finale from David Koko which was met with rapturous applause from his classmates and peers.
The Year 12 assembly showcased incredible musical performances by Harvey Carroll and Chenxin Zheng, both Year 12 Music students, who performed their assessment pieces to their peers.
Harvey played The Knight by Christopher Larkin (on keyboard) and Chenxin sang a beautiful rendition of Le Violette, composed by Alessandro Scarlatti.
We also had a visit from 2018 alumnus Adam Cooper, who is now working as an ambassador for The University of Melbourne. Adam spoke to us about his transition to university, his current studies in Biomedicine and his ambition to become a doctor. It was great to hear Adam's story and to see him doing so well!
