Year 11

I was given the opportunity earlier this year to apply to be an MTC Ambassador. The MTC Ambassador Program is run by the Melbourne Theatre Company and allows for a small group of Year 11 students to travel to MTC headquarters, see MTC theatre productions and discuss them with the rest of the group.  In addition, students can meet the various cast and crew members.  I was VERY keen to have this opportunity, so I put in my application and crossed my fingers...and I got in!

We had our first meeting just a few weeks ago. I met all the other ambassadors (who were all very nice) at the MTC headquarters. We were then given a tour of MTC, including the costume design and storage areas, the massive prop collection and the various meeting areas for people who work there. We had dinner then headed to Southbank Theatre to go see A View from the Bridge by Arthur Miller.   The play was well written and directed and the actors were amazing. After the show we were taken backstage to see how the show’s technical side works. We met with the stage manager and the actors and were allowed time to ask them questions about their characters and the show itself.

It’s a great privilege to be involved in this program. I’m very excited to see the other shows on offer this season at MTC over the course of the year, because through this program I can extend my knowledge of the theatre industry.

Community Partnerships

We take this opportunity to thank the Melbourne Theatre Company for their ongoing support of the BSC student community.  MTC regularly offers highly valued enrichment programs and opportunities to Victorian students and this support is greatly appreciated.
