Careers News

Last week there were two events aimed at providing information for our students. Year 11 students were invited to attend a talk on what to consider when changing levels or dropping subjects going into the HSC year and the implications of these changes.

The second event last week was a visit by two representatives from the University of Newcastle who spoke to over twenty students in both Year 10 and 11.

CAA Annual Conference

On Friday last week I attended the CAA Annual Conference in Sydney along with hundreds of other Careers Advisers across NSW schools.  Various workshops I attended included:

-VET options

-the future of journalism

-occupational aspirations of Australian school students

-how technology is shaping the future of learning

-career information on apprenticeships and traineeships.

There were also fifty exhibitors including universities and many other training and course providers which offered a wide variety of information.
