Year 12 Drama study tour

The Year 12 Drama students spent a week in Melbourne during the holidays. They attended workshops run by the Victorian College of the Arts and also went to see plays in the evening, including performances at the Melbourne Comedy Festival. The workshops were rigorous and very practical, focusing on voice, movement and play building skills. At the end of the week, the year 12’s performed, for an audience, a 20 minute piece based on the work they created during the week.  The students also had a session with Alumni Hamish Johnston (class of 2014), who talked about his experience auditioning and studying for an acting school, followed by the audition process for Harry Potter and the Cursed Child, his first professional role. The students had a fantastic week, enjoying everything Melbourne has to offer. It was a very positive and enriching experience and the students worked brilliantly.
