Round 2 NAS will see John XXIII College take on Newman College. Year 7 students will play their fixture on Thursday March 7, due to the public holiday. A reminder that if students cannot meet their commitment, they need to give the teacher in charge adequate notice. Good luck to all teams.

Interhouse Swimming Carnival

The 2019 Interhouse Swimming Carnival was an enjoyable and successful day. Held on Friday, 22 February at HBF Stadium the carnival was a great way to end Week 3.

The Year 12 House Captains, well supported by the other Year 12 students, lead from the front and the cheering and support from all Houses was a highlight of the day. Given the strong House spirit the scoring for the coveted Spirit Award was extremely close and it took a final ‘chant-off’ to decide the winner. The new St Louis House chant was superably executed, and they were the recipients of the 2019 Spirit Award.

The competitive races were close and the quality of performances very high. Throughout the day seven records were broken, with one of the records dating back to 1990. Mrs Veronica Brennan-Poland did an exceptional job as the poolside announcer and her calling of each race really added to the overall atmosphere. Congratulations to Loyola House who held off a fast-finishing St Louis House to win the Sr Mary Murray Cup for the third consecutive year.

Champion and Runner-Up Champions will be announced at the next Secondary Assembly.
