Magis

This week’s Magis highlights have been two very successful seminar breakfasts. The first was for students from Years 7-10 and featured David Castellani from Alpha Motivation who gave excellent insights into aspects of social media and academic success. The second events was a very informative talk on secularism for senior students from Fr Michael McMahon. Warmest thanks to all staff members and students who attended these events.

Interschool debating teams have now been finalised and the debating handbook will be distributed next Tuesday. Teams for Da Vinci Decathlon have now been virtually finalised, so anyone who has not put in a form must do so on Tuesday. Only one team per year group is permitted, and for the first time we will field teams from Years 7 to 11 this year.  Nominations are now called for the Creative Edge Challenge at Curtin University on March 30, and it is hoped to field two senior teams this year.

At next Thursday’s Secondary Assembly badges will be presented to Magis Committee members for 2019, and there will also be a report and video from the Magis senior  team that performed so well at the World Scholar’s Cup Tournament of Champions at Yale University, USA, at the end of last year.
