Parents and Community

Just a reminder to everyone that drives along Jukes Rd out the front of John Fawkner College to please be aware that the speed limit is 40km/h.

Wow Epic Times!!!

The school council would like to commend the departing year 12 group on their resilience as they undertook these last two years of their schooling, mostly from a remote classroom which was possibly anything from the kitchen table to the back seat of the car!

We would like to send a huge thank you to all of the school staff for being so persistent, adaptable and resilient over the same period.

The master plan of the new school proposal is pretty much ready to go so to everyone who has written letters to politicians this year, asking for funding, thank YOU! We will keep at it until we get the money because we all deserve the best opportunity to thrive and not just survive.

Appointing our new Executive Principal Dr Lisa Vinnicombe has brought back some stability to the school environment and we are enthusiastic and optimistic about 2022.

Have a lovely break and we will see you all soon.

Dear John Fawkner College Community,

My name is Alice and I work for the community-led organisation Growing Farmers. Growing Farmers aims to build a stronger local food system in Fawkner that is better for the environment and community. We do this through a project called Backyard Farmers, that matches aspiring urban farmers with residents in Fawkner who have large underutilised backyards. The farmers are supported to establish a productive patch, and the residents receive fresh produce and develop new relationships in the local community.

To find out more about the project on our website too: https://www.growingfarmers.org.au/fawkner-residents-info-page . The deadline to apply is 10 December 2021.

Please feel free to give me a call to discuss the project on 0408936271.

All parents please see attached link for the North Coburg Rebels baseball club.  Come and try for free.
