Principal's Update

Lisa Vinnicombe

The last few weeks have passed incredibly quickly and I already feel very much at home in the JFC community. Thank you everyone for making me feel welcome and helping me to settle in.

This term we completed our four year school review. I would like to extend our thanks to the parents and students and staff who contributed to this work and provided the reviewers with some honest and interesting feedback about our school. The review is a significant time for a school, as it provides us with a plan and goals for the next four year period. We received some great feedback, commenting on some very positive relationships between students and their teachers, and a great community feel at the school. We will receive the full report in 2022.

Great things happen in schools: this term, we returned to school from what we hope was the last lockdown and still managed to run the gala, the year 12 formal, complete exams, and prepare student reports. I met with some of the principals of the local primary schools, and look forward to that ongoing relationship with our local schools. I have met many students and was delighted to be on the panel to appoint our new school captains for 2022.

Thank you everyone – this is a great school and a terrific community. Our students are lucky to have dedicated staff who care and who are committed to providing the best education to our students. I am excited about what 2022 will bring, with many new teachers and support staff, a new cohort of year 7 students, and returning students from 2021.

Have a wonderful break everyone, be safe and have fun, look after yourselves and each other. We will see you back here on Tuesday 1st Feb 2022.
