As the term comes to an end so does another year of sport, including Run Club and Swim Fit. I’d first like to congratulate those students who participated in CASSSA sport this term as well as students who have signed up for Run Club and Swim Fit. Your dedication to trainings and games this term has been exemplary. I cannot wait to see what you do in sport at the College next year. Another special mention goes to the teachers and coaches that have consistently supported us; we wouldn’t be able to do it without you!

With holidays approaching many, like myself, are looking forward to not waking up early to be at school by 8:30am, not having to go to sleep early because, “it’s a school night!” and, having the opportunity to spend the day on the couch in pyjamas. While these are all necessary things that I am sure everyone will do at least once during the Christmas break, it is important that exercise is not neglected!

If you’re stuck on what you can do, here are my fitness goals for the holidays which you may want to use as some inspiration:

  • Go to the track at least twice a week for training
  • Join my mum on her afternoon walks at least twice a week
  • Exercise using weights three times a week

I picked the three goals above as I believe they are realistic with my holiday plans. Remember goals are individual so they might not be the same as mine or your friends, it is important to stick to what is best for you. You could even arrange a walk or training session with a friend to make it more fun.
