Science - Year 7 FoodLab Program

After many cancellations, over the last two weeks, some of our Year 7’s have taken part in the FoodLab Program at the Whittlesea Tech School.  Working with industry partner Costa Mushrooms, the students had to design a food product that made use of the mushroom stalks that Costa otherwise throws away.  The products they designed also had to work towards solving a problem such as food waste, world hunger and the unsustainable farming practises involved in meat production. They carried out scientific tests into tastes and textures of food before starting to look at what products they could create.
