A message from our Principal
Dear St. Brendan's School Community,
We welcome back classes F/1 Brian, F/1 Baldacchino/Casey and 5/6 Sidebottom and Thompson. It is lovely to have you back at school with us.
Thanks to all parents/carers for being so understanding and supportive in these challenging times. Our thoughts are with families that are still in isolation.
Deputy Principal Appointment
As previously advised, Sally Mills (Deputy Principal) is retiring at the end of the year. This position was advertised and interviews have been conducted for the Deputy Principal position in 2022.
The Panel of Janet Claassmen (Principal Consultant CES LTD), John Howley (Middle Years Learning and Teaching Leader) and myself conducted interviews via Google Meet this week.
After conducting Referee checks, the Panel endorsed one of the applicants for Deputy Principal. Paul Desmond (Executive Director CES Ltd) was notified and endorsed the Panel's decision.
It is with much pleasure that I announce that Joel Brian has been appointed in the position of Deputy Principal. We congratulate Joel and look forward to working with him in this role. Joel has been the Junior Learning and Teaching Leader at our School, and has been a fantastic Leader with his team.
Sacramental Program
This weekend and next weekend, our students will participate in the Sacramental Program. The students are very excited as they have been working for a long time due to COVID Restrictions.
Special thanks to Father Joe Taylor, Laura O'Sullivan (Parish Sacramental Co-ordinator), Leanne Pellegrino (St. Brendan's Catholic Identity Leader) and Year 3/4 Teachers and parents for all the support they have given to the children.
I'm sure the children will remember their special day in years to come.
Staffing
Jack Threlfall has accepted a teaching position at Berry Street for 2022. We wish Jack every success in this new venture.
We have appointed Jake Enright (Foundation/1 Teacher) and Tristan Dyminski (Year 5/6 Teacher).
Congratulations
Congratulations to Alicia Mentiplay and Henry on their Wedding this Saturday. We wish them every happiness for their future.
2022 Foundation Transition Day
Our new 2022 Foundation students will come to our school next Friday, 19th November from 9.15am to 11.00am to meet their teachers. We look forward to meeting them.
Class Lists
Our teachers will begin the process of organising students in classes for next year. A great deal of time is spent on this process, and teachers spend time working out the best class for each student.
We do not take teacher requests, however if you have a concern or a matter you need to raise, please either email me on principal@sbshepparton.catholic.edu.au or phone on
58 211 926 to discuss.
Take care,
Paula.
