Swimming Sports

The Swimming Sports will be held on Thursday 17th February, 2022.

The day will be split into two sessions:

Session 1:  8:53am - 11:30am - Senior students (Years 10, 11 & 12) at the pool.

Session 2:  11:55am - 3:15pm - Junior students (Years 7, 8 & 9) at the pool.

In other words, Junior students will have normal class Period 1 and 2 and will then be at the pool Period 3 and 4. Senior students will be at the pool Period 1 and 2 and back in class for Period 3 and 4.

Seniors will have their lunch at school, while the juniors will have their lunch at the pool in between events. The timetable is also only four periods - no split lunches.

What about students whose age level is different from their year level?

Students will attend the pool in your YEAR LEVEL (not your swimming age group).  If you swim in an age group that is NOT on the same time as your year level, you should see the marshalling staff at the beginning of your race and they will advise you of when you will swim.

What are the Transport arrangements?

Seniors:

  • Students can go directly to the school in the morning (and if a car user can travel back to school at the end of your session - provided you have already completed the necessary car driving forms, including any permissions for other travellers).
  • Students who have been dropped at the pool or walked will be able to catch a shuttle bus back to school.

Juniors

  • Buses will take all students to the pool and return them to school.  No one can ride a bike!
  • Town students who are walking or getting picked up can be dismissed from the pool.
  • Country bus travellers or other students needing to return to school can catch the shuttle bus.

What about food?

  • The Kiosk at the Pool will be open however it will be limited to selling ice-cream only.
  • If at the pool you really need to take your own lunch/snacks.
  • The Coffee Van will also be available at the Pool for the day
  • The canteen will be open at school during the recess (Juniors) and /lunch (seniors)
  • A BBQ will be available at the Pool and profits from this will be given to charity.
  • You are not allowed under any circumstance to get take- away, nor have it delivered by parents or another source.

Can students get leave passes?

There will be no leave passes from the pool. If you  need a leave pass as a necessity, you MUST have organised this the day before with their House Leader.

What do students wear?

On the day you can wear casual clothes in your house colours but it needs to be appropriate and take into account being in class for two periods of the day. You also need to have covered shoes for school  (no thongs/sandals) and if you have technology or Science prac classes (if running) remember to bring appropriate covered footwear.

What about the student House Captains?

All House Captains (Yr 8, 10 and 12)  will attend the pool for the entirety of the day.

Can parents attend?

Unfortunately this year, parents will be unable to attend.
