Swimming Carnival
Overall, the 2022 Swimming Carnival was a great success!
The Swimming Carnival sets the tone for the rest of the year and all those that were there certainly made an excellent first impression. The noise and support, particularly from the Nicholls area was fantastic and they really set themselves apart from the other houses, resulting in a thumping victory.
Despite the cloudy weather, the participants were eager from the start, with Nicholls earning the early house points with a win in the ‘lilo race’. This really set them up for the rest of the day and snatching many more points in the ‘Iron-person race’ in the last event of the day, they ended up as comfortable winners with 207 points. Onus fought hard and compiled 154 points, Blair had 77 and Saunders 56.
With Nicholls having had such an amazing Swimming Carnival, it will be difficult for the other houses to catch up. Saunders is wilting in our defence of the trophy from last year and along with the others, we will have to get extra involved in interschool sports and the Athletics Carnival. As Sports Captain, I was really excited to see the participation which I know will be even better for the whole school event of the Athletics Carnival.
I can’t wait to see everyone at the Athletics Carnival on May 6th in their house colours once again!
