Community Involvement

Parent Committees now recruiting in 2022

Thornbury High School has a number of parent committees aimed at improving the Thornbury High School experience for all stakeholders. Currently a number of these committees are looking for new parent members to support their work. These include:

Community Connections Committee

Thornbury High School Community Connections Committee, is a bridge between internal workings of the school, parents/carers and wider school community. Parents on this committee receive specific presentations and information on all things Thornbury High School and at times act as a consultative group to the school. In the past this group has played a significant role in developing the new school uniform and the current student academic reports. This parent group also seeks to develop ways of connecting parents, the wider community and the school through specific events. The group meets twice a term on a Wednesday evening and is currently open to new parent members. Please email Ryan Millar, Assistant Principal at ryan.millar@thornburyhs.vic.edu.au

Music Parents Committee

Music Parents support the successful delivery of our unique Thornbury High School music program. Parent members provide assistance at music concerts and support fundraising for the purchase of new instruments for the junior IM program.  Like all of our communities this parent group is a great way to meet-and-greet many families in the school community. Please email Emma McCulloch, Head of Performing Arts at emma.mcculloch@thornburyhs.vic.edu.au
