Vinnies Cent Sale

By Ziggy Groot

On Saturday, I joined Michael Doolan to help out at the Vinnies Cent Sale. We set up the sale by assembling and cutting boxes, organising prizes and eventually gifting them to their happy ticket winners. It was a good experience that certainly allowed us to reflect on our own lives and to reaffirm our gratefulness. We go to an amazing school and have access to an amazing education and opportunities in life.

Dyson Nelder and Martin Weiss, SRC representatives, joined me at the Queen’s Memorial Ceremony at the cathedral on the school holidays.  It was moving and great to be a witness to a service for a woman who made an amazing positive impact on the lives of many with her countless hours of service. May she rest in eternal peace.

Thank you for all the hours of service the Year 12 groups have given to Rosies over the last year. Hamish Ford, Ross Hunter and Connor Deng did the last session for Year 12 during the holidays and have now handed the reins to the Year 11s who'll volunteer next year.

College Principal Glen Seivers took the prefects out for a meal to celebrate their achievements this year. We enjoyed very generous meals at the RSL, and it was exciting to hear about the new adventures they will embark on in 2023. Saints sincerely thanks them for their efforts this year, which has been a most positive one for growth.

The Vinnies Christmas Appeal will really kick off soon. Please stay tuned! Year 12 are donating as their last gift to service this year. Thank you, Year 12.
