Peaceful Parents

"'Peaceful Parents' is a Mindfulness and Positive Psychology-based parenting program to increase resilience in both parents and their children.  ‘Peaceful Parents’ is a strength-based parenting workshop that is engaging, practical and supportive for parents.   Parents learn strategies to lessen stress and enjoy parenting more, as well as learning practical strategies to build resilience in their children.”

I (Cheyenne) am looking to run a Peaceful Parents program for any interested parents/carers with flexible work schedules, who can give up 2 hours of morning or afternoon a week for 4 weeks. If you are interested, please fill out an expression of interest form here

For more information on the program, you can visit this website.

Triggers and Glimmers

Recently, while working with some students, I was trying to find a good word that would essentially be the opposite of ‘triggers. I did find one.  We wellbeing people end up talking a lot, possibly too much sometimes, about what might trigger us or what our friend's triggers might be.  Being well is all about maintaining balance, and although we sometimes can find it helpful to be aware and acknowledge the triggers we have, it is so important to balance it out somehow with something positive.

Glimmers are the things that make us regulated, relaxed and bring us joy.  Reflecting on our glimmers can help us further understand ourselves, become better at self-regulating and help put us in a positive frame of mind. The more positive things we think of and are grateful for, the happier we will feel.
