Well! So many things have been happening in the program recently and we are stoked to share them with you! Last week was all about the educators, and along with sweet treats, ours were presented with Certificates of Appreciation from the students. Big thanks to Poppy and Ella who gave a brilliant speech thanking them for all they do in our program. Well done Poppy! Well done Ella!

In the early hours of Before Care students worked on developing their fine motor skills and got their creativity flowing making origami animal bookmarks and designs using the Hama beads while some got their heart rates pumping playing E.B.I.Tiggy and Marco Polo.

That’s the Ante, now onto the Post Meridian!

Afternoons have been just as packed with opportunities to learn, develop, play and relax. Outside, future stars have been playing AFL, soccer, badminton, tennis AND cricket. We’ve made great use of our incredible playground and a fabulous work crew was established to assist in the moving of our sandpit to a new location. The combined effort of students and educators had the job done in no time.

Folding ourselves into amazing new shapes, we did Origami with paper, recycled box creations, jewellery making, board games and some of our Grade 5 students began work on their projects for school. In the kitchen, staff were busy making muffins, zucchini slice and pancakes on Friday morning.

In August there’s a tonne of fun things coming up! Science Week, Book Week and our annual RSPCA Cupcake Day fundraiser which we have been participating in for over 10 years. Keep your eyes peeled for updates on those.

See ya!

Sarah

Hi All, Lexi here,

It has been a lovely ‘sunny’ start to August, and perfect for us as we have started the relocation of the sandpit!

Our OSHC attendees have been having fun working together to shovel sand into wheelbarrows for the staff to wheel to the new sandpit which is next to our 2nd room, where the Ping Pong table was... (R.I.P. Sir Pong – ye served us well). Grazie Leo who set up the new sandpit frame while we are still unearthing the old one. Thanks to Mr. Bull for helping too!

We’re thinking shade-loving plants in pots so they can be moved if needed for now. I’ve been talking to a few parents who can help with a plan to fix up the veggie patch.

We are making a 'Wishlist' for resuscitating indoor plants and recycled bigger pots for the shady garden, it actually has dappled light, so maybe some herbs?

What do you think? Come share your ideas with us!

My thanks to Stacy for meeting up with me today to help with some sustainable ideas!

Have a great week and Happy Children's Day on Friday the 4th!

Bye for now! Lexi and OSHC team.
