Today our Year 6 students learned about extreme energy poverty - experienced by 786 million people around the world.
On Thursday, people from the Origin Energy Foundation came to teach us about Solar Buddies! We learnt about many things including energy poverty, how solar panels work but also how Solar Buddy’s help people living without energy. Then we made our own Solar Buddy’s to send to people without energy. We also wrote a nice letter to who was going to get out Solar Buddy. I had so much fun building the Solar Buddy’s and wish I could do it again. Ned 6P

This week we had a visit from origin foundation!! We learnt about energy poverty, how solar panels work and we got to create a solar buddy. We also made a letter to send them off to someone in the world without electricity. When we created a solar buddy, it was really fun and it felt good to give solar buddy to someone who needs it. I loved the activity and I want to help more people. Fred 6P

In Year 4 science this term: Our focus is 'Beneath Our Feet', the name of our Earth sciences unit. Students have been sharing their current understandings of the make- up of our Earth, and making distinctions between its layers, gaining a more refined conceptual knowledge of just how massive our planet is. After reading the amazingly interesting book 'The Street Beneath My Feet', students created a poster to show their understanding of the layers of the Earth beneath their feet.
